Surface Shield was used last season to fight illness in our locker room. The product provided a layer of protection we could not find elsewhere, and we were one team in the NHL that did not have any players contract the mumps!
HA complete disinfection of all surfaces was completed throughout our school after a case of MRSA was reported. Surface Shield was applied without interrupting our school activities. It was also applied to all wrestling mats and weight room to protect against transferrable skin infections such as ringworm and impetigo.
After years of trying to combat ringworm and other skin infections associated with wrestling programs, this product seemed worth a shot. In 2012, we had eight reported cases of ringworm. This year, we had zero!
Children’s Healing Center is a facility where children who are undergoing medical treatment can come together to play in a clean, germ-free environment. Surface Shield adds an extra layer of protection to this place to help protect against communicable infections for children with compromised immune systems.
CATA (Capital Area Transportation Authority) treated all busses with Surface Shield in 2012. We have continued to treat our busses over the past three years for the protection of our staff, our customers, and our riders.
Our school applied Surface Shield to our wrestling mats, locker room, benches, and weight room. The wrestling program has historically experienced many cases of skin infections, including ringworm and impetigo. I’d encourage all wrestling programs to incorporate this into their preventative program.
